Not only is the weekend here but it’s also halloween. I wanted to write a brief post and say, SAFETY FIRST!! Make sure to check all of your candy for razor blades and please avoid houses that are poorly lit. When in doubt consult the following candy code indicators that ought to be placed visibly in front of each house.
Wednesday was the night that the brightest minds in Boulder all gathered in one place to get drunk and listen to people lecture (sounds like father… kidding). There were enlightening talks about the parallels between rock stardom and programing, how to apply stand up comedy theory to start ups, being the number one douche bag, as well as how to crash parties. There were just too many great talks to list them all so I recommend that you hit this link for all of the presentation videos.
I do recommend that if you watch them you get a little drunk first. It’ll help to recreate the circumstances under which we all spoke. There’s nothing like pontificating before a drunken rabble of a hundred and fifty people. I imagine it’s much like making a toast in the galley of a pirate ship.
I wanted to throw a huge thank you out to Mr Andrew Hyde the MC extraordinaire of the night. Not only did he put ignite boulder together but he’s also been evangelizing my blog which has been a welcome miracle.

As you may or may not know I had the honor of being selected as one of the speakers. I did a talk on perception of possibility which is something that I’ve blogged about before. Below is the video of me giving my lecture.

Hey Michael,
You have great presence. This is a wonderful presentation!
andrew hyde organized startup weekend in columbus, which my co-worker and partner-in-crime dan rockwell’s team won.
wtf.
I just watched your video on the Ignite Boulder website. It is truly wonderful. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your perspective and that I think there is a huge audience that needs to here your inspiring words and see your pitch-perfect design. I haven’t looked at much of your site yet, but I intend to.
I added your video to a project that I am working on, by the way. If you have a chance you can check out the other Ignite videos that will be a part of it, and what the project is. But, if you don’t have time, just know that I really enjoyed your presentation and I look forward to hearing/reading more from you.
